Founded in Portugal in 1997, Vinomatos, Lda, benefits from the more than 40 years of experience its managing partner, Georges Mandrafina, has in the agricultural sector.
The adventure began in the 1980s, when the industry was hungry for innovation and had enormous potential.
The history of Vinomatos traces the history and evolution of the mechanized planting machines developed by Georges Mandrafina.
Vinomatos developed the first laser-guided planting machine in 1982 and, five years later, launched the GPS-guided mechanized planting machine, the OLIVA. This machine enabled Vinomatos to experience exponential growth, and the company is now a global leader in mechanized planting, serving the largest vineyard and olive grove producers in Europe, North Africa, Chile, the U.S., Russia, and elsewhere.
Always attentive to its customers’ needs and on the lookout for new solutions, Vinomatos introduced the RÉVOLUTION mechanized planting machine in 2020. Starting with the 2021 season, this machine will be a true revolution in the agricultural sector, enabling planting and trellising in a single pass, resulting in significant gains in productivity and time savings, as well as cost reductions.
Vinomatos has made significant strides in the agricultural sector through the development and innovation of work methods and equipment. But that’s not all! Vinomatos has also expanded its production capacity. In 2020, it opened its showroom in Seiça, Ourém (Portugal), and is currently constructing new facilities in the Ourém Industrial Zone, with over 2,400 m² of covered area. Attentive to market trends and committed to providing a comprehensive solution for its customers, Vinomatos now offers a wide range of tractors, agricultural equipment and products, as well as technical consulting.

Planting Machines

GPS-guided planting machines, such as OLIVA and, more recently, the new RÉVOLUTION planter, ensure perfect alignment and help prevent problems associated with uneven crop growth. We leverage our extensive expertise in development and technology to maximize results for our customers.
In 2020, Vinomatos launched yet another piece of equipment capable of revolutionizing the agricultural sector worldwide: the RÉVOLUTION planting machine, which dramatically increases the efficiency of planting operations by performing both planting and trellising in a single pass along the same row, effectively completing a task that currently requires multiple workers and incurs much higher costs.
This GPS-guided planting machine performs multiple operations in a single pass: it places the stake and the plant, seals the hole with water, and installs the intermediate post, wire, drip irrigation tubing, and liquid or solid fertilizer.
This new generation of planting machines, equipped with a dual-hammer system, allows the stake to be placed at a depth of 40 centimeters and the intermediate post at 70 centimeters, with automatic leveling that makes them ready for planting on slopes of up to 14%.
